FOR GEMEENTE MOL
YEAR 2024
The 15 Chapels, hidden in Achterbos in Mol, are being thoroughly restored and made more accessible. This enhancement is accompanied by the signage of a new walking path that leads you through the forest to 'Bruggeske' square. In order to place the chapels in a contemporary context, it was therefore decided to provide an installation on this square that refers to them.
With great respect for the historical value, a sculpture is being created with a very clear and recognizable play of lines, namely the contour of the chapels. By working only with sheet material in depth, the whole feels light and transparent, with the white color also contributing to this effect. Only when arriving at or leaving the site does the more massive appearance on the side become apparent. This interplay between openness and enclosure creates a special experience.
The ‘new’ chapels are arranged in a circle. This creates enormous dynamism and, together with their slenderness, the work expresses its contemporary character. Because they seem to disappear into the ground, it feels as though all fifteen of them are represented as well.

IN COLLAB WITH NATIONALE LOTERIJ | ZANZIBAR | UCLL | BEWEL
FOR WIN FOR LIFE BELGIUM
YEAR 2025
The RePaper project by UCLL is making festivals more sustainable with a circular gadget.
What if, instead of simply throwing away your waste, you transformed it into something useful, stylish, and socially relevant? That is exactly what RePaper, an innovation project of UCLL Research & Expertise, achieved this summer together with Nationale Loterij, Zanzibar, designer Roel Vandebeek, cutting studio Cuthings, and custom work company BEWEL.
Every year, thousands of visitors gather around the ‘Geknipt om te winnen’ stand of the Nationale Loterij at Belgian festivals. The campaign is extremely popular, but it also generates a huge pile of used scratch tickets. In January 2024, the Nationale Loterij and Zanzibar approached RePaper with a clear question: could something be done with this paper waste?
A creative and social solution
RePaper immediately saw potential. Together with designer Roel Vandebeek, a sustainable sun visor was developed, made from used scratch tickets from the 2024 festival summer. Each gadget consists of carefully cut-out components and was assembled by BEWEL, resulting in more than 3,000 unique packages.
The practical production required precision: more than 20,000 tickets were sorted, checked, cut, and processed. Cuthings was responsible for laser-cutting the tickets, after which BEWEL handled the assembly and packaging. Even the shipping boxes were reused, giving the entire process a highly sustainable character.
A festival gadget with impact
Festivalgoers can win the sun visor at the Nationale Loterij stand. But the gadget is more than just functional: it is a conscious reminder that waste can also be valuable. The campaign highlights the importance of the circular economy, social entrepreneurship, and inclusive employment.
Designer Roel Vandebeek calls it “one of the most difficult things I have ever had to design because of the limitations of the small scratch ticket” — but at the same time also one of the most meaningful.
RePaper is currently carrying out a social and ecological impact assessment in collaboration with the Inclusive Society research unit of UCLL. The results of this assessment will be published in August/September 2025 and are expected to demonstrate how much CO₂ emissions and raw materials were effectively saved compared to traditional festival gadgets.

IN COLLAB WITH GOVAPLAST
FOR MAASMECHELEN
YEAR 2025
How can a seating element blend into nature? This was the challenge I took on as a designer. Breaking through the linear character of standard benches formed the inspiration for this new design. Based on the graceful, natural, and unconventional character of the Maas and the surrounding nature, I arrived at the recycled plastic profiles of Govaplast. Besides the ecological aspect, they also offer the flexibility I was looking for in order to translate the dynamic image I had in mind.
In addition to the rounded shapes, the different lengths and positions of the basic profiles also contribute to the open character of this design. These ‘imperfections’ give the benches a unique design, making them both a sculpture and a seating object at the same time.
The collection consists of a number of basic configurations that can be combined with one another and adapted to the location.
Scoop is … created at the request of the municipality of Maasmechelen to design a unique, sustainable collection of street furniture that creates a connection between nature and urbanity.
Another first is that, through its long, flowing, and open play of lines, the Mosa collection leaves behind the dimensions of standard benches, turning them into sculptures in nature.

YEAR 2025
Six Fois briefly immerses you in the world of Art Deco. The hexagon serves as the basis for this design. This geometric shape transitions to an asymmetry in one fluid motion, increasing this design’s dynamism and elegance. This slenderness is combined with the ribbed surface that creates a pleasant tactility and is inviting. In addition, this structure will also give a surprising effect in function of the incidence of light.
SixFois invites you on a brief yet captivating journey into the world of Art Deco.
At its core lies the hexagon – a precise, geometric form that flows effortlessly into subtle asymmetry. This seamless transition infuses the design with both energy and elegance. Its slender silhouette is enhanced by a ribbed surface that not only feels inviting to the touch, but also comes alive in the presence of light. Depending on the angle of incidence, the structure reveals ever-changing reflections and shadows – a dynamic play of form, texture, and brilliance.
With the new Six Fois collection, Jolie Handles strengthens their position between Arts, Design &Architecture. With these designs they create a more beautiful and functional world.

RED DOT DESIGN AWARD
Space-R® is a new invention by AVC Gemino. Patent is pending. AVC Gemino is a Belgian company specialising in vertical space partitioning. These imagineers of space(s) always seek out the perfect blend of aesthetics, functionality, flexibility, durability and acoustics. The creative team fuses imagination and engineering to create a unified whole.
With his solution we won the Red Dot Design Award and the Henry van de Velde Label, a prominent recognition for products that excel in product design. We already see an increasing demand for our adaptable system solutions that combine flexibility with an attractive design and high-quality acoustics.
Create your own look and feel with a variety of materials, interfaces and add-on functionality.

Having a space where people can meet and work (together) is essential to employee wellbeing, health and productivity. However, due to challenging building joints and the variety of project participants, creating these spaces often runs into difficulties and frustration. Installing or moving walls takes considerable time, energy and money.
Space-R relegates these problems to a thing of the past. Its plug-and-play wall profiles are easy to install or relocate, and leave the floors and ceilings unscathed. This doesn’t mean compromising on design, either – thanks to mix-and-match material options. Space-R also provides excellent acoustics.

FOR PROJECT 5X5
YEAR 2021
Twin consists of two slim, vertical handles placed right above each other, making it look like there is only one vertical handle for opening two cabinet doors. The left handle is right above the right handle. Or is it the other way around? Is the handle for opening the right cabinet door above the handle for opening the left cabinet door? Who knows. That depends on the user, who is left- or right-handed.
What is unique about this new handle is undeniably the surprising effect. When the cabinet doors are closed, you see a single vertical, slim line. You don't know which handle is meant for opening the left- or right-handed cabinet door. But the thoughtful aspect also plays a role: the convenience for the user to be able to open the cabinet doors with a handle while creating a visual refinement in the handle line of the kitchen.
In my search for a new visual value in the kitchen, I thought of accentuating the vertical lines by means of the door handles to increase the slimness and character. In practice, this means that a double handle must be placed next to each other to be able to open all cabinets. This dual use did not provide the finesse I was looking for.
By inventing Twin, these double handles are reduced to one handle that is divided according to the cupboard wall. This allows you to open up to 4 cabinets in two directions with one vertical trigger. Surprising, slim and thoughtful.

IN COLLAB WITH WARSCO UNITS
YEAR 2020
During the concept phase, I mainly went in search of a certain dynamic that can be integrated into the finish on the outside. This breaks through the recognizable basic shape of the unit and creates a playful and cuddly character. In my design, an extra outer jacket is draped over the unit. This makes it possible to slide open this covering like a 'curtain' at the height of the windows and doors, creating a dynamic image that also forms a symbiosis between the outer shell and the unit.
Starting from Warsco’s machine park, the elaboration of this unit can be done entirely indoors. This offers many advantages in terms of flexibility (customizability), control and pricing. The idea is that this concept can also be extended to other existing or new units, always tailor-made.
